So, you’re going to be a dad…
So, you’re going to be a dad…
Our vision is for young dads to be valued and supported in their role as parents.
The North East Young Dads and Lads (NEYDL) was founded in 2015 and since its conception has worked with a multitude of local authorities, researchers, arts and cultural organisations and young dads.
We provide many opportunities for dads to work with highly trained youth workers, peer-to-peer educators and engage on our online platform DigiDAD (www.DigiDAD.uk). Our community of young men lead by example and have gone onto become trustees, vice chairs, youth workers and volunteers for our charity with some periods of engagement lasting over 6 years. We currently have funding to work in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Middlesborough.
Our mission is to enable young dads to play a safe, active and meaningful role in their children’s lives, by supporting and connecting young dads and influencing wider practice.
“I find it hard sometimes to think about leaving the house but when I know it’s with NEYDL it makes me feel ok”
